The mission of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, part of the College of the Sciences and Mathematics, is to prepare students to successfully enter the biomedical industry and professional careers with a solid background in engineering, life science, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Our ABET accredited program provides hands-on experiences that ensure graduates are productive and successful as they begin their careers in the biomedical industry. The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate courses that are taught in-person and may be offered online. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department?s students. Their experience, substantive specialization, and pedagogical training will serve to strengthen the department's mission, vision, and program curriculum development. The faculty member will collaborate with other departmental faculty and staff to ensure student success.
Responsibilities include:
Teach undergraduate level courses in the Biomedical Engineering program. Additional courses within area(s) of specialization may be assigned depending on department needs
Contribute to curriculum development
Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations
Advise and mentor students
Contribute to maintaining the program?s ABET accreditation
Serve the University and the community through participation in various committees
Perform other duties as assigned
Ph. D in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a closely related field. ABD may be considered ? must be completed on or before August 2025
Ability to teach undergraduate courses in the Biomedical Engineering curriculum
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbal, and presenting dynamically to a variety of constituents
Experience successfully teaching at the undergraduate level; and/or
Experience incorporating undergraduate students in research programs; and/or
Record of scholarship, publication, and/or research accomplishments; and/or
Ability to perform research or teach courses in the general area of bioinstrumentation

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
