The Technical Supervisor, Exhibitions reports directly to the Manager, Exhibition Design & Production. Working alongside the full-time and part-time Preparator, Registrar and Exhibition Design staff, this position is responsible for the technical preparation, production, and installation of all time-based art exhibitions. Specializing in the field of AV installation for exhibitions, the Technical Supervisor, Exhibitions will help to ensure that all AV Exhibition services and installations are delivered in a manner consistent with Museum policies, strategic goals and professional standards. Collaborating and communicating with the Curatorial department and Artists, the Technical Supervisor, Exhibitions produces all AV services, including vendor management and the scheduling of Part Time AV staff support as needed. Technical Supervisor, Exhibitions is a Project Manager of AV Exhibition solutions and upgrades to the Museum's technology infrastructure, and will also perform regular technical maintenance to ensure safe working procedures by addressing and escalating any safety issues as they arise.
Salary & Compensation

3+ years Experience with audio system testing, set-up and recorded amplification (Required)
3+ years Extensive experience in field of audio and video and projection and recording services and equipment operation and maintenance. Basic IT support and network knowledge. (Required)
3+ years Experience performing Audio and Video Engineering work for a contemporary artist and curator practices. (Required)
Technical skills to operate and train on AV equipment (excluding film projection equipment) (Required)
Strong interpersonal skills work effectively with a wide range of departments and outside vendors and consultants (Required)
Working knowledge of applicable guidelines, and standards for safe operation of technical equipment. (Required)
Experience working cooperatively with widely varied professional, semi-professional and community arts groups regarding technical requirements of staging performances. (Required)
Experience applying project management principles to define goals, organize and schedule complex projects and to coordinate project execution. (Required)
Time management skills to manage, track, and work on multiple complex tasks. (Required)
Ability to develop creative solutions to general problems, trouble shoot unfamiliar projects/assignments, and respond with flexibility to requests for assistance (Required)
Experience assigning and reviewing work completed by part-time and/or student employees. (Required)
Working knowledge and application of principles of customer service for the contemporary art world. (Required)
Adaptable to dynamic and technically-demanding work environment; Proficient in reading floorplans and schematics (Required)
Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong organization and problem-solving skills and highly-detailed oriented (Required)

Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience/training (Required)

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
