Summary: The Audience Development Manager is responsible for building brand awareness, driving success for all earned revenue (ticket sales, rentals and concessions), and fostering audience engagement across multiple platforms for the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts (JLC) at the College of Lake County. This innovative and tech savvy leader will manage the teams responsible for ensuring a warm and inviting customer experience for all. Under the Executive Director, this position utilizes strategic planning and creative thinking to grow new audiences while retaining current patrons, executing dynamic marketing campaigns and promotions, and maintaining excellent business relationships with a variety of vendors, community stakeholders, and colleagues both on and off campus. The person in this position will seek out and develop relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting the James Lumber Center events and activities, maximizing revenue and creating sponsorship packages.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Graphic Design, Digital Media or related fields
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in managing strategies of advanced marketing, social media, and/or advertising practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating, time sensitive deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong copywriting, editing and proofreading ability.
Strong initiative and hustle, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Summary of Essential Functions: Marketing Strategy and Planning | 25% 1) Create, plan, and execute marketing campaigns to diversify and grow the audience base of the JLC for both touring and CLC student shows. Develop compelling and relevant marketing strategies to ensure that the JLC reaches our annual revenue goal. 2) Guide messaging for advertising, web, social media, print and public relations strategies and campaigns for seasons, individual shows, and other programs - including frequency, scope and segmentation. Serve as an internal educator on digital marketing and social media best practices. Work with CLC's PR/Marketing department to ensure all CLC guidelines and standards are followed. 3) Lead efforts with digital marketing campaigns including SEO, Google Analytics and Ad Words; analyze traffic on web, ads and emails to inform decision making; employ strategies to improve analytics, list segmentation, user experience research and other methods to measure, manage and improve engagement.
Community Relations | 20% 1) Implement market research to gain in-depth understanding of the JLC's current and prospective audience. Use data to perform competitive analyses of the JLC within the Lake County community and to drive decisions, create relevant and impactful marketing plans, increase ticket sales and shift brand perceptions. 2) Research, develop contacts, establish and maintain relationships with organizations, civic groups and businesses. Identify and implement additional opportunities by developing sponsorship packages and employee promotions to create additional connections between local businesses and the JLC. 3) Identify and execute community outreach opportunities to enhance the bond between audiences and the JLC, increasing brand recognition to both the CLC student and greater Lake County communities, including creating and delivering public presentations. 4) Occasionally works shows as needed to connect with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership/Project Management | 25% 1) Stays current in the field by attending ongoing professional development activities, maintaining professional memberships and other field contacts. Stay up to date on technology and other tools used to track, analyze and improve marketing initiatives efficiently. 2) Create annual marketing planning budget allocation, effectively manage expenses to maximize ROI, finding cost saving efficiencies as possible. 3) Create operational plans and schedules to ensure staff are supported in achieving department and college goals. 4) Crisis communication lead as needed. 5) Develop, maintain and improve systems for reporting to track campaign performance; regular analysis and reporting on campaign success to meet or exceed goals. 6) Work closely with artist representatives on promotional/marketing opportunities, including setting up interviews, video shout outs, updated materials, and other targeted efforts to drive ticket sales.
Personnel Management | 25% 1) Direct the marketing team to ensure continuity of business in maintaining and growing our audience base. Maintain an engaging and culturally competent marketing portfolio including a standalone website, mail and e-mail marketing lists, advertising and more. Create processes to ensure that this is done efficiently, including distribution plans to maximize ROI. Monitor metrics and analyze efforts, pivoting as needed to ensure event success. Hire student workers as needed. 2) Direct the Box Office and Front of House staff to ensure that the JLC is represented professionally, with excellent customer service standards, in person, over the phone, and during events. Develop innovative methods to encourage staff as brand ambassadors, shining a light on the JLC's position in the arts and culture sector. Monitor metrics and analyze efforts, pivoting as needed to ensure event success.
