APAP believes that pay transparency is a critical step toward pay equity and benefits both the job seeker and the employer. For those reasons, we are now requiring that employers include a salary range in all new job postings.
Postings that are backfilled from another association’s career center may not include salary information.
New York University (NYU) Berlin is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course entitled "The Sound of Fashion" sponsored by the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (ReMu).
The course corresponds to a class taught at NYU New York that looks at the relationship between fashion and music. Many have built collectible fashion empires and massive secondary resale markets with soaring price points for rare items in collaboration with and inspired by the attitudes of artists and musicians. This course will look closely at the timeless iconic images, brands, artists, and most importantly the spirit and attitude that transfer from human to song, to runway, to street ? and not always in that order. The course will look at rare and collectible pieces, the resellers? marketplace, limited collaborations, licensed images, and the new generation of designers who carry the torch of music in the pieces they create.
The course is taught in English and runs approximately from early September to late December 2025. The course meets once per week for three hours on NYU Berlin?s campus. The sessions are a mixture of lecture, discussions and field trips.
Candidates should be passionate about teaching, have a track record of academic publications in a related field, be fluent in English, and have an academic background that reflects course themes. Important is a broad academic outlook and the ability to cater to the individual needs of the students. As the course is open to students from any major, with or without prior studies in this field, the course content and pedagogy should ensure accessibility for a variety of students.
NYU Berlin offers you:
An inspiring and rewarding teaching position in an innovative university setting with opportunities to co-design and co-shape our processes.
Opportunities for personal and professional development, including access to NYU's Global Faculty Fund, participation in NYU Berlin's IDBEA (Identity, Diversity, Belonging, Equity, Accessibility) Council, as well as training in topics such as, for example, anti-racist teaching and syllabus design.
A diverse, engaged and welcoming team.
