Postings that are backfilled from another association’s career center may not include salary information.

We pursue the creation of knowledge about the Hispanophone and Lusophone world, and we have particular strength in the relationship between culture and politics in the modern era. We offer courses, taught in Spanish and Portuguese, ranging from basic language instruction to advanced undergraduate and graduate seminars on literature and culture. We embrace an interdisciplinary model wherein literary studies stands alongside other approaches such as cultural studies, film studies, critical theory, critical race studies, and feminist and gender studies, among others.
We seek candidates who share our strong commitment to research, teaching and mentoring, and to a scholarly community shaped by values of inclusive excellence. The Spanish and Portuguese Department and the School of Arts and Sciences are committed to creating a community of students, scholars, and staff that reflects the diversity of the world we live in.
