HR EMPLOYMENT/CAREERS PART-TIME DRAMA/THEATRE ARTS INSTRUCTOR Foothill-De Anza Community College District is establishing a pool of qualified applicants for this position. The Foothill-De Anza Community College District does not reimburse applicants for travel, lodging or any other costs incurred by applicant to attend interviews or accept employment. All interviewing and moving costs incurred will be the responsibility of the applicant.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Applications will be screened by appropriate department representatives on an as-needed basis. Qualified applicants who best meet the needs of the division will be contacted for an interview.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Standard duties expected of all part-time faculty include the performance of instructional, counselor, or librarian duties as assigned; evaluation and assessment of student work; and timely submission of grades. In addition, part-time faculty are expected to participate in the assessment of their performance, including administrative and student evaluations. Part-time faculty may also have opportunities to participate in various campus and staff development activities and are encouraged to be involved in the larger College or District community. Part-time faculty may be eligible to receive additional pay for office hours, additional assignments, and professional development events.
Teach courses in theatre arts.
Other potential areas of instruction may include intro to theatre, multi-cultural theatre, actor training including on-camera and voice-over, all approached from a diverse perspective.

Occasionally classes may be taught outdoors.
Online/Remote Instruction, if teaching online classes.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
Vision sufficient to read various materials.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to perform the tasks required of the position.
Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
Bending at waist, kneeling, or crouching.
Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
Lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs.
Dexterity capable of efficiently rendering computer-based instruction as required by remote learning, if teaching online classes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Drama/Theatre Arts
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Master's or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/ performance OR Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities OR the equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIIONS:
Preferred experience with online instruction.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
