Position:
The College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications for a tenure-track, 9- month Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance beginning August 2025.
Qualifications:
Terminal degree required. A depth of technical practice and pedagogical skills in classical and contemporary ballet and experience teaching advanced, pre-professional dance majors. Additional experience in dance education, dance history, dance science, dance writing/advanced writing, or dance and film are desired. We encourage applicants with experience in diverse cultural and global perspectives and interest in innovation, collaboration and emerging trends in dance performance, choreography, and education. Experience in choreography and a committed practice to exploring and advancing these processes through research to support shifting constructs in 21st century dance. Demonstrated abilities in teaching in higher education, and a record of scholarship (creative and/or written).
Responsibilities:
Position carries a 3/3 course teaching load with responsibilities for required courses in the BFA in dance performance and choreography. Teaching responsibilities also include advising and mentoring. Professional growth and scholarly activity are expected along with service to the department, college, and university. In addition, professional and civic service are expected within a community of shared governance. The department is seeking individuals with a specialty in recognized pedagogies or emerging forms who understand curricular relevance for pre-professional undergraduate dance major students supporting 21st century needs.

Recording of plenary sessions that is intended for broadcast or webcast requires prior arrangement and permission through APAP;
Advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours;
Advance scouting, without cameras, is required;
All camera crew personnel must wear press badges, and badges must be visible while on the exhibit floor;
All camera crews will be escorted by a representative of the Conference while on the exhibit floor;
A list of filming needs, indicating company name and booth number, must be approved by APAP in advance of any filming;
Permission must be granted by each exhibitor before any filming begins. Camera crews must provide release forms before filming;
If you ?need power, other than battery pack, advance arrangements are required and can be arranged by contacting Leah Frelinghuysen;
You will be responsible for any costs related to electrical needs;
Interviews for exhibitors in the EXPO Hall should be scheduled up to one week before the conference starts (January 10, 2020) and advance scheduling is required for all filming during exhibit hours
