Position Description: Reporting to the Executive Director of Events & Transportation, the Central Ticket Office (CTO) Director has full management responsibility and authority for CTO, which:
1. Provides the servicing, processing, and sale of tickets for on-campus and off-campus events held in on-campus and off-campus venues produced by UCLA departments as well as third party affiliates; 2. Acts as the "front door" to the University for many persons, thereby emphasizing the need for outstanding customer relations; 3. Serve as liaison to campus departments who are responsible for event management and monitoring with regard to admission requirements; 4. Provides the sale of and distribution of items of an off-campus service nature to the campus community, such as movie tickets, bus passes, tap cards, theme park tickets. 5. Working with other campus departments, pursues new revenue generating opportunities that leverage existing business operations.
The Director supervises a full-time staff of fourteen and responsible for a part-time staff of approximately 85 with an annual budget of approximately $3.5 million.
The Director is charged with managing the department operations so as to achieve the mission of the organization - "to provide access to UCLA events through excellence and top quality service to its customers" - at the highest level possible. The Director must insure that the objectives of the department are met on a continuing basis and that all clients are treated in an equal fashion with regard to their needs and their requirements.
The Central Ticket Office manages the ticketing for approximately 600 events per year, amounting to gross sales upwards of $30 million. Between 1.2 and 1.9 million tickets are processed and distributed by the office. The department services events held in over twenty (20) distinct venues located both on-campus as well as off-campus, with venue capacities ranging from 15 to 86,000.
Special Instructions: The estimated budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is the posted minimum to $160,000 annually+, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
