The College of Music at Michigan State University seeks an exceptional pianist and piano teacher to join the Keyboard area. This full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor will begin in Fall 2024. The Piano Area at Michigan State University is committed to the highest level of teaching and performance and is an integral part of a dynamic and active College of Music. We seek a world-class performer, effective teacher and collaborative colleague to join our faculty and serve students in a number of different capacities.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate students in applied piano, piano chamber music literature, undergraduate collaborative piano, chamber music, and other courses as needed by the College of Music. The successful candidate will recruit high-level students at all degree levels and will maintain a nationally and internationally prominent performance and research career with a commitment to work that champions Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Musical Arts, Piano or commensurate professional experience
Minimum Requirements
-DMA in a piano related field or commensurate professional experience.
-Demonstrated experience as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist
-Extensive knowledge of the piano chamber music literature
-Demonstrated successful teaching experience
-Evidence of a commitment to DEIB
Desired Qualifications
-Record of successful college-level teaching
-Record of success recruiting students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
-Record of sustained performance and research activity at the national and international levels.
