The Department of Theatre invites artist/educators for an Assistant Professor of Theatre—Musical Theatre position beginning august 15, 2024. Responsibilities: teach undergraduate courses in musical theatre BFA curriculum such as Acting the Song, Musical Theatre Workshop, Professional Practices; serve as Director on departmental productions; vocal coaching; advising students and helping graduating students transition to the professional world. Successful candidates will be dedicated to teaching students in the BFA setting and to positive collaboration with fellow artists, possess a thorough knowledge of current vocal trends and musical theatre repertoire, have university teaching experience and have a record of at least 5 years of professional performance/musical directing work.
Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in Theatre (acting/directing or musical theatre) or DMA (with musical theatre focus) or comparable degree plus professional experience; or a master's degree or BFA with extensive professional experience.
