Teach Jazz voice to undergraduate and graduate students.
Perform in the faculty jazz ensemble (Michigan State University Professors of Jazz)
Teach Graduate Jazz Styles & Analysis course.
Teach Jazz voice studio class.
Teach and Coach Jazz Combos
Mentor and guide students in professional activities
Recruit and retain Jazz Vocal students.
Engage in meaningful service to the College of Music, as assigned.
Collaborate with faculty in the development of the program, curriculum content and pedagogy to ensure the quality of the student experience and student recruiting.
This is a tenure-track appointment assistant or associate professor beginning August 16, 2024.

Minium Qualifications include:
Master’s degree in Music and/or equivalent professional experience
Experience as a private teacher
Expert in Jazz voice techniques
Commitment to promoting DEIAB
Implement inclusive pedagogical strategies to increase assistance for students from underserved and first-generation students

Pedagogue in Blues-based improvisation and tradition (Jazz, Gospel, R&B)
Demonstrated knowledge and ability in regard to the American Songbook
Knowledge of Jazz vocal history
Knowledge of Gospel and R&B traditions
