The Department of Music at Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2024. The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year and five courses thereafter. We seek candidates to direct the Jazz Ensembles (big band, combo, and improvisation class) and teach courses in jazz history and electives.We seek a jazz specialist with a secondary area of specialization, including interdisciplinary studies, that encompasses a broad range of musics and approaches to expand the department's offerings open to both majors and non-majors.
