Job Description:
Teaching basic acting for the stage.
Coordinate with the Director of Theatre in selection of textbooks, audiovisual, and other instructional materials.
Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline specific technologies.
Complete various reporting procedures as required for student evaluation and course reporting.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Education Requirements: Master’s degree in Drama, Theatre, or related or any Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credits in one of the disciplines.
Experience Requirements:
Experience in teaching post secondary courses in drama/theater arts/performance.
Professional theatrical experience as an actor, director, or similar role.
Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students from different cultures and ethnic groups.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.
Demonstrated leadership, ability, and desire to stay current in the field.
