Overview
Provide technical support for Department of Recorded Music, Tisch School of the Arts. Operate a wide variety of audio production equipment including specialized equipment requiring significant training. Instruct students and faculty on operating equipment; conduct individual and group training workshops, and demonstrate use of equipment. Advise students and faculty on equipment that would best meet their technical needs. Perform skilled maintenance and repairs on complex equipment and parts. Schedules and monitors faculty and student use of facilities. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday; 8:30 to 4:30 with a one hour break.
Responsibilities
Required Education: High School diploma and some relevant technical training or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Relevant certification.
Required Experience: 2-3 years of related experience. Experience providing customer support in a studio/production-related environment.
Preferred Experience: Experience in a recording production or equipment rental facility.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to operate a wide variety of production equipment (e.g., analog and digital audio). Skilled at troubleshooting and performing moderately complex repairs. Ability to train others in equipment use.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to operate ProTools, Logic, Reason, Ableton Live, MacIntsoh computers, large frame analog mixing console, and analog tape recorders. Ability to administer computer network, install software. Ability to handle tube an dribbon microphones
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $33.715. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
