This is a full-time salaried position based in the Triangle region of North Carolina. The North Carolina Symphony is currently operating on a hybrid work structure with onsite and remote work (after first 90 days). The benefits package includes health insurance through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, long-term disability coverage, life insurance, an employee assistance program and voluntary vision and dental insurance. Enrollees in our optional 403(b) retirement plan receive an employer match and our Health Savings Account offering provides a bi-annual employer contribution.

THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving, the Institutional Giving Coordinator is responsible for implementing a comprehensive institutional giving program and coordinating initiatives to achieve maximum revenue results. The Institutional Giving Coordinator is an essential member of the team that is responsible for securing $1+ million each year and increasing financial support from foundation, municipal, and corporate sources, with specific responsibility for meeting and growing annual revenue targets from foundation and municipal supporters who contribute up to $10,000 annually. The position is also responsible for coordinating and tracking the Symphony’s research, identification, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition of all foundation, municipal, and corporate supporters statewide.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate solicitations, reports, recognition, acknowledgements, and benefits fulfillment for foundation funders, municipal partners, and corporate sponsors, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
Develop and write compelling cases for support and other materials that earn and retain financial support for the Symphony.
Coordinate the comprehensive calendar, tracking systems, and electronic files for grants and corporate sponsorships, including proposal and report calendars, and cultivation and stewardship systems and processes.
Research prospective foundation funders, municipal partners, and corporate sponsors to increase funding for Symphony programs and projects.
Support the Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving to achieve the annual revenue goal of $1 million from institutional sources and achieve annual growth targets.
Under the supervision of the Director of Corporate & Foundation Giving, cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with foundation funders and municipal partners to personally achieve annual revenue targets.
Monitor, on a weekly and monthly basis, progress toward revenue goals
Provide project management and administrative support for the Philanthropy department and special events as needed.
Perform concert duty and other responsibilities or assignments as needed.

Because driving between worksites and to various locations may be a central function of the position, administrative staff must maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience in fundraising or a business-related field required, with experience in grant writing and performing arts preferred
