The Assistant/Associate Professor of Trumpet will engage in significant professional activities, maintaining regional, national, and international visibility as a trumpet performer and teacher; teach undergraduate and graduate trumpet applied students, pedagogy and literature courses, and secondary trumpet class; coach chamber music; recruit talented trumpet students for undergraduate and graduate music and music education degree programs. Other duties as assigned.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Earned Doctorate (or ABD) in music is preferred; an earned master's degree in music is required. Candidates must have an outstanding record as a teacher of university-level trumpet students and outstanding performance skills, as evidenced by a performance resume that could include excellent solo, chamber music, orchestral, jazz and commercial experiences. The ability and desire to recruit an excellent trumpet studio is required.
