Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Rider University, seeks part-time Conservatory teaching, accompanying, and conducting positions for 2023-2024 academic year in the following areas:
Saxophone and clarinet (traditional and jazz)
Violin/Viola (traditional and/or Suzuki)
Cello (traditional and/or Suzuki)
Theory
Early Childhood Group Classes
Accompanists
Position Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in music with a concentration in the area of instruction. Must have demonstrated experience teaching and/or working with children from ages 6 through high school in order to be considered. As a part-time teaching position, candidates must be willing to offer teaching hours within the following time frames (weekdays from 3:30 pm on and/or Saturday from 9am – 4pm). Candidates will be asked to offer in-person instruction on the main campus in Princeton, NJ and/or at an extension site. Remote teaching is optional.
Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Strong pedagogical background in their area of instruction, extensive knowledge of teaching methods, supplementary repertoire, and methodology for developing necessary technical skills. Prefer candidates with experience as performers (solo, chamber, ensemble) and with chamber music (coaching, performance).
