About the CSO: The Charleston Symphony is a full-time orchestra performing Masterworks and Pops series at the Charleston Gaillard Center, as well as providing robust education programs and community events throughout the year. The Opportunity: The Charleston Symphony’s Individual Giving Manager works collaboratively with the Director of Development to leverage the full resources of the CSO including the Board of Directors, executive and artistic staff, musicians, and other engaged stakeholders to maximize and advance annual fundraising efforts. With a specific focus on cultivating and fostering a portfolio of donors up to $2,500 to secure gifts in support of the CSO’s bold artistic and community-focused vision, the Individual Giving Manager has a critical role in stewarding donors up the patron ladder as a philanthropic ambassador with a resolute passion for supporting and championing our mission.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management
Oversee, manage, and cultivate a comprehensive portfolio of donors up to $2,500.
Explore and maintain strategies for existing donor upgrades and new patron acquisition.
Stewardship and benefits fulfillment for portfolio donors up to $2,500 to maintain exceptional donor relations.
Assist the organization in corporate relations and benefits fulfillment for a growing, robust portfolio of corporate supporters.
Research
Aid in the identification and cultivation of Major Gift prospects guided and informed by data-driven prospecting.
Maintain and update extensive donor profiles in assigned portfolio of supporters.
Serve as a key player in the development and implementation of organizational strategic plans to successfully grow annual contributed revenue to transformational levels.
Support
Support the Director of Development and Development Team in all areas of annual fundraising, strategy implementation, donor relations, and event planning as needed.
Serve as an outstanding and charismatic ambassador for the Charleston Symphony at various donor events, community performances, and other settings.

Qualifications-Must have
Bachelor’s and/or progressive degree in music, arts management, or related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work efficiently within a database to manage and explore donor data while delivering comprehensive reports.
Previous experience in nonprofit development with demonstrated success in annual fundraising, campaign management, and donor relations is also desirable.
Familiarity with live performance production.
