GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing instruction in field of Fitness and Nutrition to students with intellectual disabilities.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teach students the fundamentals of fitness and basic nutrition (making healthy choices).
Teach various physical activities to optimize student physical and mental well-being and encourage a healthy lifestyle overall.
Teach students simple exercises and the basics of using college fitness equipment and addressing good dietary choices, energy expenditure, and the overall relationship to health.
Teach other fun physical activities (i.e., walking, dancing, yoga, stretching) to encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree.
Strong experience with Fitness / Nutrition.
One year of experience working with or teaching individuals with special needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player with students and Project Forward staff.
Excellent organizational and written communication skills.
Proficiency using technology in educational setting including use of Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to perform physical/hands on work.
Valid Driver's License.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $34.45/hour; up to 12 hours a week. Position scheduled Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Part-time, Non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
