Position Summary:
Interlochen Center for the Arts seeks a dynamic collaborative leader to oversee the recruitment and enrollment activities for Interlochen Arts Camp (IAC) including recruitment, operations, and financial aid under the direction of the Executive Dean of Admission. The summer camp enrolls ~3200 students each year in grades 3 through 12 in Music, Creative Writing, Theatre, Interdisciplinary Arts, Dance, Film and New Media, Animation, and Visual Arts. The Dean will work closely with the Executive Dean of Admission on recruitment, operations, and financial aid strategies that align with institutional enrollment goals, will manage four direct reports, and will work closely with our marketing and analytics teams to oversee a collaborative data-focused approach to student recruitment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid, Camp leads the recruitment and enrollment efforts specific to Interlochen Arts Camp and is responsible for executing efficiently and successfully the many facets of the admission cycle including re-enrollment for returning campers.
Work directly with colleagues in Marketing and Data Analytics to ensure a data-informed and collaborative approach to recruitment.
Manages day-to-day operations with regard to all aspects of Interlochen Arts Camp admission work including, but not limited to: recruitment, application and decision processing, financial aid, communications, and admission reporting.
This position is responsible for the IAC financial aid budget, is a strategic member of the financial aid committee, communicates decisions to families, and facilitates any appeals evaluations. The Dean will manage a large financial aid budget and be a strategic decision maker in initial aid offers and appeals.
Working closely with the Executive Dean of Admission, the Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid, Camp will work to improve and streamline business processes, execute recruitment and financial aid strategies, and successfully meet enrollment goals. The Dean will also organize and schedule all camp recruitment events, and be a key voice in curricular initiatives for new camp programs.
Four staff positions report directly to the Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid, Camp. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent knowledge of enrollment technology, strong verbal and written skills, experience with budget management, and the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives.
Lead day-to-day operation decisions related to Camp application and decision processing, make decisions on staff responsibilities, and execute events on and off campus.

Coordinate with Camp Life and Arts Division Leadership on targets and capacities for all camp programs.

Develops and maintains relationships with admission and arts administration professionals as well as arts educators
Works with students, families, independent educational consultants, etc.
Seven (7) years of experience in an education or camp enrollment setting including financial aid; preferred experience with enrollment related to arts programs
Budget management experience
