Position Summary:
The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) is seeking an Assistant Director of Graduate Public Health Programs in the Office of Academic and Student Affairs. This position will lead the development and implementation of administration and student services programs for graduate public health programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with recruitment staff to deliver recruitment activities including but not limited to bi-weekly webinars, in-person events, SOPHAS virtual fairs, and American Public Health Association (APHA) and New York State Public Health Association (NYSPHA) meetings
Process student applications in SOPHAS and Slate for the graduate public health certificate, MPH, and BS-Public Health/MPH combined degree students
Facilitate admission decisions
Advise students in the graduate public health certificate program and MPH degrees, including combined degree students
Perform administration functions for programs: make data-driven recommendations for new/revised curricula; submit new or revised curricula to departments, the graduate school, registrar and accreditors; track, monitor and report student academic and post-graduate outcomes; and collect, analyze and report data from students, alumni, employers, peers and community partners through surveys, focus groups and listening sessions to enhance our programs
Interpret Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) accreditation standards and Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) best practices; and track, monitor and guide the School to ensure programs, student services, processes and outcomes meet or exceed standards
Provide student support services including new student orientations, academic and career support, extracurricular activities and interprofessional activities
Develop messages and communicate about our programs and student opportunities through the MPH Student Resources Portal, student listservs, Tuesday newsletters, and the School's public health social media accounts
Manage all aspects of the public health certificate program
Represent the School at national, state or local public health events such as annual meetings of APHA, NYSPHA and ASPPH (includes travel within the United States)
Maintain student records and student and program outcomes data
