Bayside Academy seeks an exceptional, enthusiastic, energetic World Languages instructor for the Middle School (grades 5-8), with a focus primarily on 5th/6th students. This teacher must be willing and able to teach Middle School Spanish, but the ideal candidate will be versatile in what he or she can potentially teach, including other world languages. He or she must be knowledgeable in content and pedagogy, and able to meet the needs of all learners. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical. Relationships are the cornerstone to student success, and this individual must be able to build strong, trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
Must have a degree from an accredited college or university;
MS teaching experience preferred;
Native-like fluency in Spanish;
Advanced English proficiency required;
Passion for MS students and teaching preadolescents required;
Demonstrated knowledge of Hispanic history, culture, art, music and film;
Ability to use the latest educational technology and understand traditional and progressive pedagogy.
