Working/Functional Title Instructor - Fixed Term Position Summary The College of Music seeks instructors to teach special topics courses in music entrepreneurship and music career development in the fall, spring and summer semesters. These positions will be filled per course/per semester, on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in arts entrepreneurship, including grant writing and funding research, marketing and public relations, financial management for self-employed artists, legal issues in the arts, self-management, booking, and touring, creating a music-based entrepreneurial venture, and other business topics. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the program has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as May, 2022. Required Degree Masters -Music, Business or related field Minimum Requirements Candidates must have at least two years of part-time or full-time teaching experience at the college level, as well as five or more years of experience as a working musician or music industry professional or a combination of equivalent relevant experience. Successful applicants must also have experience presenting workshops or lectures on music business, careers in music, or entrepreneurship.
