The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, located in Edison, New Jersey, seeks an experienced, dynamic, and resourceful history teacher for our Upper School.
Overview:
This position oversees all aspects of the Berry Performing Arts Center, a 340-seat proscenium theater located on the campus of the PK-12 Wardlaw+Hartridge School. The theater functions as a key space for school events and rentals.
Facility Maintenance
Perform regular checks of the facility and systems to ensure all is safe and in functioning order.
Be observant of the school’s use of the space. Gain, maintain, and effectively communicate an understanding of the PAC’s functionality and limitations
Research and coordinate improvement project initiatives
Work closely with the Superintendent of Buildings & Grounds and Director of Technology to schedule work orders that can be completed by in-house staff
Schedule contractors for facility maintenance on an as-needed basis
Administrative Responsibilities
Budget management
Schedule school events hosted in the PAC
Schedule rental reservations and staffing for rental / revenue generating events in PAC and AP Room
Event Operations
Work with event organizers to plan event logistics and technical requirements
Execute setup requirements and provide support
Engaging and supervising student PAC crew
Recruit, train, and supervise part-time overhire staff for rental events
Pre-event system checks
Providing connectivity and technical support to presenters
Student Engagement
Create excitement and provide opportunities for student engagement
Organized - experience with project management software to manage workflow is a plus
