Job Summary:
The ETSU Department of Computing seeks new faculty members for the BlueSky Tennessee Institute (BlueSky), an ETSU off-campus instructional site located at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee headquarters in Chattanooga, TN. BlueSky is a unique partnership that pairs workforce development with an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Computing, with a concentration in Information Systems and an emphasis on Health Systems Security and Analytics. The faculty members will reside and work in Chattanooga, TN.
Chattanooga, the Scenic City, is located along the beautiful Tennessee River as it turns to the north, winding around the base of Lookout Mountain. Situated within 150 miles of Atlanta, Knoxville, Nashville, Huntsville, and Birmingham, Chattanooga is easily accessible by car or plane. It has numerous outdoor recreation options, sporting events, a vibrant arts and theater scene, and many wonderful restaurants. The area boasts excellent educational options, with several public, magnet, private, and parochial schools.
Depending on the experience and credentials of the candidate, the appointment will be made as a tenure-track assistant professor or a non-tenure-track professor of practice.
Ideal candidates will possess a passion for teaching undergraduate students a broad range of Computing subjects. In addition, all candidates must be willing to participate in service and outreach activities that support the Department of Computing and BlueSky. Faculty hired in a tenure-track assistant professor position must conduct research as part of their contract.
The position is contingent upon sufficient funding. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.

For professor of practice candidates: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field and at least ten years of Computing-related work experience.
For assistant professor candidates: a Doctorate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, to be completed by August 15, 2023.
