AIM Academy is seeking to fill an Upper School Digital Media Arts teaching position for the Fall 2023 school year. AIM’s Upper School (grades 9-12) is an innovative and collaborative environment where teachers have smaller than usual caseloads so they can focus on the individual needs of students. Teaching faculty in the Upper School enjoy a good deal of autonomy in the material they teach as well as very well developed support structures to employ key research based practices for comprehension, writing, critical thinking, vocabulary, and engagement with various forms of information. AIM is seeking creative applicants with expertise and teaching experience in the following areas: videography, photography, digital animation, graphics, theater tech, and game design/3D visualization. The ideal candidate should be forward thinking, and always eager to bring new technologies and strategies into the classroom to prepare our students for future success. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Digital Media Arts classes, particularly to students with language based learning differences like dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia as well as working with students who may have processing or attention issues. The ideal candidate will also understand how to marry explicit instruction with a college preparatory scope and sequence. Because AIM is dedicated to creating a culture of equity and inclusion, candidates should value engaging in open dialogue, questioning, confronting assumptions, and attuning to all voices. Please review AIM’s “Equity and Diversity Statement.” |
