General DescriptionPosition: Adjunct Voice Teacher Campus Location: TBD Reports to: Voice Department Chair Classification: Adjunct (up to 9.5 hours of teaching per week) Position Summary The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an adjunct Voice Teacher position in the Voice Department at the Peabody Preparatory, with an anticipated start date of Summer 2023. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled and dedicated voice faculty as part of a vibrant and active department committed to helping students of all levels achieve their potential; we embrace the novice musician as well as the serious student aspiring toward a career in music. Ideal candidates will have a background in vocal performance, education and/or vocal pedagogy, and be enthusiastically committed to teaching singers at all levels of experience. Additional opportunities to develop classes and workshops according to candidate experience and interest may be available. This position may include opportunities at the Preparatory's Annapolis and Howard County campuses as well as the downtown Baltimore Peabody Conservatory campus. Teachers set their own teaching schedules (subject to space availability), but after school and/or Saturday hours will be required to meet student needs. This is a part-time adjunct position; hours vary according to enrollment up to a maximum of 9.5 per week. Duties - Teach private lessons to voice students aged 12 years and older, including adults, at all levels ranging from beginners to advanced levels during the fall and spring semesters (32 weeks). Additional teaching opportunities are available during the summer (6-8 weeks).
- Participate in and assist with end-of-semester performances.
- Attend occasional faculty meetings.
- Other appropriate assignments by agreement (e.g., class voice, summer programs).
- Opportunities may be available for candidate to develop classes and workshops according to their experience and interest.
