The Performing Arts Administration graduate program at NYU Steinhardt seeks qualified candidates to teach the following graduate-level course: Course Title: Introduction to Commercial Theater Management This course is offered in-person in the Spring 2024 semester. (View NYU's academic calendar.) The course is offered once a year in the Spring semester. Depending on student feedback, the contract may be extended for additional semesters. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-designing and teaching a comprehensive introductory course that addresses all aspects of the commercial theater production process (acquisition/development, planning, staffing, funding, marketing, branding, product positioning, and the global distribution of live commercial theatrical entertainment products). The Performing Arts Administration graduate program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to become leaders of performing arts organizations through completing arts administration and business management courses, industry-specific electives, two internships supervised by industry professionals, and a comprehensive mentoring and professional development program. The program has approximately 100 full-time MA students. The ideal candidate will be able to prepare students to pursue a career in commercial theater management. We are seeking candidates from a diversity of backgrounds who possess a broad set of academic and professional skills.
