Requisition Number: 23F300475 Position Overview: Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Rider University seeks an Administrative Specialist to provide, with little to no direction and using a broad level of skills and knowledge, advanced administrative support to assigned staff or faculty members in the Conservatory and WCC Continuing Education contributing to the operating efficiency of the work area. Operates independently in prioritizing own workload and that of others in determining how best to accomplish work objectives. Is proactive in identifying, following through, and resolving various issues. Participates in projects, as required. May delegate work to others. Some specific duties include:
Position Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required with 4-6 years of related work experience preferred. Demonstrated effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated impeccable customer service and telephone demeanor. Ability to foresee and diffuse potential problems. Demonstrated working knowledge of standard office equipment required. Computer proficiency is required with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (word processing, spreadsheet, and data management) and desktop publishing. Demonstrated strong knowledge of social networking, the Internet, and email. Demonstrated ability to effective problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines. Demonstrated recordkeeping, and organization skills required. Occasional Saturday work may be required from September through June. Sunday work may be required from June through July. Must be flexible to meet job projects and schedule requirements. Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience: General appreciation of classical music.
