This role will manage the timeline, schedule and communication of all productions to the teams, train and oversee student stage managers assigned to shows, and serve as the professional stage manager for three dance productions.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assign student stage managers to each production in collaboration with faculty directors, taking into account the demands of the production as well as the individual professional and pedagogical needs of the student.
Meet with student stage managers on a regular basis to ensure they are on track with the needs of the production, including creating all appropriate paperwork, effectively communicating with the production team and preparing for technical rehearsals and performances.
Prepare and manage the timeline, daily calls and communication of all PAD productions to the production team. During production and tech, maintains and facilitates the integrity and safety of production.
Serve as the professional stage manager for the three dance productions: WashU Dance Theatre, MFA Concert, WashU Dance Concert.
Facilitates all auditions, callbacks and audition communication around all PAD Productions (drama and dance).
Serves as a production resource on PAD events & conferences, as needed.
Position is an hourly position of 30 hours per week working a 9-month work period (Mid-August to Mid-May) annually.
This job will require nights and weekends during productions.
Ability to frequently lift 40lbs.
Ability to travel to on-campus performance spaces and off-campus warehouse.
Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management, five or more years of professional stage management experience and AEA or AGMA membership.
Excellent communication and organization skills, ability to work effectively as a member of a team, efficient and remain calm in high-pressure situation.
Detail oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines.
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Â
$20.15 - $31.26 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
