The Montessori School of McLean (MSM) is seeking an AMS or AMI certified Elementary Lead Teacher to join our dynamic team in one of our Lower Elementary Classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year.
MSM was founded in 1973 with one elementary and one primary classroom. Over the past 49 years it has grown into a thriving school community with nearly 225 students from Toddler through Upper Elementary. Located in the bucolic town of McLean, Virginia, MSM attracts families from across Fairfax and Arlington Counties. With five spacious acres, MSM offers an AMS-accredited learning environment for students ages 2-12 with toddler, primary, lower elementary classrooms, and upper elementary classrooms.

Successful Candidates will possess the following:
The ability to teach consistent with Montessori educational practices for the elementary program level
A love for and deep commitment to working with children in the most formative years of their educational journey
A warm and positive demeanor in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and parents
Strong communication skills with students, faculty, staff and parents
A growth mindset in presenting and leveraging lessons to support the educational success of elementary students
The ability to be flexible and work with a dynamic elementary team to foster and encourage innovation and excellence in teaching within the Montessori pedagogy
The ability to prepare and maintain an orderly, attractive, and clean environment in the classroom
Skills in educational technology and on-line standardized assessments
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
AMI or AMS Montessori certification, or Montessori certification from a MACTE recognized training center for elementary
Minimum of 2 years elementary teaching experience
