About City of Sacramento, SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District
The SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District is a component of the City of Sacramento's Convention and Cultural Services Department. Within the District are a Performing Arts Theater; a multi-purpose Auditorium and a full-service Convention and meeting facility, which combined hosts over 400 events, of them 200 ticketed events, and almost one million visitors annually. The City of Sacramento and City Council, with community partners including Visit Sacramento and the Sacramento Hotel Association, have embarked on the renovation and expansion of the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, Memorial Auditorium and SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. Registered as a historic landmark, the Memorial Auditorium is a true multi-use venue. The Auditorium has four seating levels, a sloped main floor, dress circle and two balconies, with a maximum capacity of 4,000 general admission and 3,460 reserved. In addition to the main house, the Auditorium includes the Memorial Hall and the 272-seat Jean Runyon Little Theater. The renovation of the Memorial Auditorium has added seating, acoustic enhancements, and other audio/visual upgrades. The renovation to the SAFE Credit Union
