The Department of Counseling & Psychological Services (The Counseling Center) invites applications for a non-classroom faculty-ranked Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Counselor, or Licensed Social Worker position. This 9-month Full-Time, non-teaching, Tenure Track Instructor position will begin August 2023.

The mission of the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services (The Counseling Center) is to promote the optimal health of all WCU students through the provision of quality and culturally competent mental health services and education for the campus community.
This non-teaching faculty position is primarily responsible for providing mental health counseling to the WCU student population, presenting with a range of psychological concerns. The incumbent will provide short-term individual treatment, group therapy, crisis work, and outreach programming across campus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to the diverse needs and backgrounds of WCU students and collaborate with department counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other University health care professionals to provide care. The incumbent’s schedule includes four in-office clinical days and one work-from-home day for service and scholarly activities. Must provide 24 clinical hours per week during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Additional compensation is given for those counselors that work during the winter and summer break.
