The School of Music at the State University of New York at Fredonia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor and Director of Orchestras. The successful candidate will bring a spirit of innovation and collaboration in the leadership of a robust orchestral program. With primarily undergraduate students, the program includes full symphonic programs, fully staged opera productions, chamber orchestra, as well as partnerships with a variety of local and regional professional organizations. The successful applicant will also teach undergraduate and graduate conducting courses. The appointment begins Fall 2023. The Fredonia School of Music is a thriving program with approximately 600 undergraduate and graduate students. The curriculum prepares students for careers in music performance, musical theater, music education, sound recording, composition, jazz, and music therapy.
