The Technical Director plays a central role in procedure development and planning of the annual budget for technical elements, and the successful delivery of events of all kinds. The Technical Director is primarily responsible for the technical elements of the center's performance & production venues including the integrity and maintenance of stage equipment (production audio, theatrical lighting, A/V systems, stage rigging, etc.), coordination and supervision of technical staff (including in-house, student, temporary staff, and outside production stage crews), safety training of stage equipment, evaluation of, and compliance with the technical rider requirements of professional performance contracts, the development of accurate budgetary forecasts and the creation of procedures for the responsible use of the center's stage equipment by students, faculty and guests.
