Requisition Number: S_221062 Department: Lied Center for Performing Arts-0854 Description of Work: The Program Coordinator for Jazz in June is responsible for the program planning of UNL's and Lincoln's outdoor concert series. Responsibilities include researching of artists, contacting agents/artists and performing preliminary engagement terms. Final artist decision, confirmations and contract negotiations are performed by Lied Center Executive Director. Program Coordinator assures all terms of artist agreement are achieved; position is responsible for all artist production, coordination of equipment and performance day requirements. Program Coordinator is also primarily responsible for fund raising and cultivation which includes: individual, corporate, grant support and donor fulfillment. This position works with Jazz in June Operations Coordinator in marketing, planning and the promotion of Jazz in June. The position interacts closely with the Jazz in June Advisory Board and Lied staff overseeing the administrative functions of the Jazz in June program at the Lied Center. During the absence of the Jazz in June Operations Coordinator, this position fulfills the responsibilities of that position. Minimum Required Qualifications: Associates degree in Arts administration, communication, education, marketing or business related field plus two years of related experience in concert creation and coordination required; equivalent education/experience considered. Experience in administrative coordination necessary. Successful fund-raising experience raising $30,000 or more is required. Strong coordination skills and ability to multi-task to achieve results essential. Must be proficient with computer software to complete research and ability to communicate with others. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work one-on-one with others and in groups essential. Attention to detail required. Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Arts administration, communication, education, marketing or business related field will have Experience in program coordination and project management preferred. Demonstrated understanding and interest in live music and/or jazz related art forms is helpful. Prefer experience in marketing/promotions, planning and implementing educational programs.
