The Department of African, African American, & Diaspora Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to hire a social scientist whose work focuses on the experiences of people of African descent in Latin America. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research, teaching, and service center on issues such as race, community formation, colonialism, development, human rights, environment justice, social movements, and health. The successful candidate will join a department with a range of multidisciplinary strengths in African American Studies, African Studies, and Caribbean Studies. The most competitive applicants will be those who can help synergize departmental and campus expertise and resources. The appointment will be at the assistant or associate rank.
