The Blake School seeks to hire a Director of Summer Programs. The Director will oversee Blake’s highly successful spring break and summer camps, which include more than 100 academic enrichment and credit bearing courses, sports camps, art and theater camps and a traditional day camp. Summer at Blake enrolls over 900 campers and processes over 2000 registrations each year.
In addition to hiring and supervising 75 employees each summer, the Director prepares and monitors program budgets, develops and executes a marketing strategy, and collaborates with Blake faculty, coaches and academic administrators and outside vendors to design and offer academic and educational offerings aligned with the school’s mission. This is a year-round, benefits-eligible, 0.88 FTE position that requires a high degree of self-directed project management. Successful candidates will have deep leadership experience in a camp or similar educational setting, superb communication skills, the inclination to develop and maintain constituent relationships, an entrepreneurial orientation, and a demonstrated capacity and commitment to work successfully with constituents and colleagues with diverse identities and lived experiences.
Physical requirements include the ability to safely stage and supervise indoor and outdoor camp experiences, supervise students in transitions between activities and lift up to 50 lbs. An associate’s degree is required and a bachelor’s degree preferred.
