The University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music invites applications for a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor in Harpsichord for the 2022-23 Academic Year to begin on August 15, 2022. This is a nine (9) month appointment ending May 15, 2023 (Renewal as Continuing Appointment Possible). The Early Music Program (MPEM) is part of the Musicology Department (MUHL) and an independently directed program that offers the following degrees: Master of Arts (MA), Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) and Graduate Certificate (GC) in Early Music Performance. Members of the Ph.D. Program in Musicology also perform and coach in the program. The program maintains ca. ten (10) early-music majors and a similar number of students pursuing electives in Early Music Performance or Historical Instruments. These students perform in four large-ensemble concerts of baroque music annually (The Thornton Baroque Sinfonia), and two annual ensemble concerts in Medieval or Renaissance music (The USC Collegium). Our students also perform at national festivals and give presentations at national and international scholarly conferences. Duties Principal duties will include:
