Working/Functional TitleDigital Communications Manager Position SummaryProvides digital outreach coordination for the promotion of MSU education abroad programs and initiatives. Produces timely, relevant, and compelling digital content to support the strategic goals of the Office for Education Abroad (EA). The content will be MSU brand-aligned and developed through coordination with the EA Marketing and Communication Manager. The Digital Outreach (DO) Manager is responsible for creating video, managing web content, shaping digital assets for a variety of online and social channels, and reporting on content marketing efforts using web and social analytics tools. The DO Manager will strategize with other EA team members to create and distribute content to help in the success of EA goals. DO Manager will work closely with the Marketing and Communication Manager on development of outreach plans, website management, and social media content, and will serve on related work teams. Additional project management as assigned. Occasional evening and weekend hours necessary. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (85%): Video production (25%)

Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a related field such as communications, public relations, or digital content design; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in composing, editing, and producing digital marketing campaigns; experience with word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation software; spreadsheet and/or database software; or content management systems; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software; experience managing content for social media channels; experience with implementing accessibility standards for people with disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired QualificationsMaster’s degree in communication, marketing, advertising, or public relations; knowledge of web analytics tools; experience developing digital assets for a wide variety of platforms; ability to work well independently and effectively as a team member; excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and drive to continue to learn; outstanding customer service skills; an eye for creating graphically pleasing content; attention to detail but able to see the big picture; experience in communications coordination or management at a four-year college or university or at a study abroad organization; experience studying, living, or working abroad.
