TFDP Unit 18 Instructor Hiring statement: The Department of Theatre, Film and Digital Production is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion, providing varying pedagogical styles, perspectives and aesthetics across all our courses and productions. The Department welcomes Unit 18 instructors to contribute to our curriculum through two specific avenues: (1) instructors in areas including literature, history, criticism and dramaturgy; writing for the performing arts; filmmaking; acting and directing; production and design; and (2) time-limited contracts for designers, directors and directors of photography engaged in our annual season of theatre productions and films. Subject to positive performance assessments and curricular need, Lecturers hired through the first avenue can achieve continuing status according to the procedures established by the Unit 18 collective bargaining agreement. While designers and directors hired through the second avenue, with time-limited contracts specific to a particular production, cannot be guaranteed immediate employment beyond each production, we strive to develop ongoing pedagogical networks across the Inland Empire and the region.
