The Department of Music at Princeton University is home to Princeton University Concerts ("PUC"), one of the nation's preeminent University presenting series that brings professional classical musicians from all over the world to campus. "PUC" seeks applications for a newly created position of Communications and Events Coordinator. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of events, supporting one of the most dynamic concert programs on any college campus that continues to grow in energy and impact each year. This person will offer an important voice on the PUC team, devoted to introducing classical music to an ever-expanding and more diverse audience, both in-person and digital. This role supports each of the 5 fulltime staff members in the organization, with a concentration on marketing/communications and patron relations. The position reports to the Communications and Outreach Manager and works closely with the Director. It is ideal for someone who wants to learn all aspects of working for a university performing arts series and is looking for professional growth. With direction from the Marketing and Outreach Manager, the Communications & Events Coordinator will be part of a four-member communications team, and will be responsible specifically for the following:
-Working with the marketing team maintain and manage PUC's brand across all platforms -Developing and executing marketing campaigns -Creating and maintaining a master calendar of marketing initiatives and deadlines -Coordinating ad placements (print, digital & social media) -Assisting with developing and maintain of social media and website content -Keeping digital event listings up to date -Drafting, editing, proof reading, and sending out press releases and other communication materials -Creating and managing the calendar of PUC email marketing content (Constant Contact) -Updating and maintaining PUC's press lists -Assisting with all aspects of PUCs digital content -Tracking marketing expenditures via spreadsheet
With direction from the Operations and Patron Manager, the Communications and Events Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
-Managing ticket inventory and tracking ticket count reports, including the creation of reports in the University's ticketing system (Audienceview) -Building events and maintaining content in the University's ticketing system (Audienceview) -Assisting Operations and Patron Manager with subscriber seating (Audienceview) -Collecting data and maintaining PUC's ticketing database (Filemaker) -Selling tickets, directly into the University's ticketing system (Audienceview) -Assist with preparation of public presentations (Keynote) -Patron data clean up, working both in Audienceview and Filemaker -Attending all events and providing assistance as needed -Hosting and assisting visiting artists while they are on campus -Answering general phone calls, especially calls from subscribers and patrons who need support that they are not able to get from the University's central box office.
-Providing general administrative support for the Director -Setting up and maintaining PUC's digital archive

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
-Well versed and comfortable in multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter -Proficient in multiple computer programs, including Excel, Filemaker, and Constant Contact. -Comfortable with technology, and able to quickly and independently learn new platforms like the Audienceview ticketing system -Experience calendaring events -Strong written and communication skills -Comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment -A deep knowledge of classical music -Detail oriented and exceptionally organized. -Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills -Must be available to attend occasional evening concerts/events
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE -Has 1-3 years of marketing experience or experience working in an non-profit arts organization -Is self-starting, and doesn't need outside encouragement to stay motivated -Has a great attitude, positive outlook, collaborative spirit -Has strong interpersonal and organizational skills, courteous with a “can do” attitude -Will be a collaborative, ambitious professional who is passionate about classical music and eager to be part of a team.
