There are cultural activities including various theaters and arts councils offering concerts, plays, and live entertainment, and there are many local festivals held throughout the year.SVCC is currently seeking applicants for the position of College Navigator. The College Navigator will support the mission of the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) Division by continuously enhancing the college's strategic enrollment management trajectory and impacting student success outcomes related to student onboarding, persistence, and retention. The successful candidate will work in concert with stakeholders within EMSS and across the college to strengthen student connections and their commitment to accomplishing their educational goals.The College Navigator will work closely with potential and currently enrolled students to identify career pathways in academic and workforce programs as well as serve as a resource to assist individuals in overcoming obstacles that may affect their ability to navigate the college onboarding process, registration, and college policies/procedures.Core responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Provide intrusive assistance and follow-up to potential students from the point of inquiry to enrollmentDiscuss career and educational goals and available pathways with students, including traditional academic degree programs, transfer programs and short-term workforce optionsProvide academic advising assistance and guidance on course selectionUtilize technology and other resources to strengthen student connections to the collegeAssist students with overcoming barriers that may impact college onboarding, access to support services, and class registrationEngage in assessment activities to measure success of services and initiatives; use data to continuously improve enrollment systems
