The Department of Educational Foundations and Policy Studies invites applications for an Educational Assessment Adjunct Faculty Instructor to begin in August 2022. The Department of Educational Foundations and Policy Studies is dedicated to fostering the development of educators with the requisite critical consciousness and pedagogical skills to act as public intellectuals: citizen-teachers capable of creating pedagogical spaces and practices that are relevant, impactful, and liberating for their students. The ideal candidate will teach and provide instructional learning in-person during the day on WCU’s campus. The Adjunct Instructor will teach the following courses: - ERM353 – Assessment for Learning | Early Grades
- ERM354 – Assessment for Learning | Middle Grades
- ERM355 – Assessment for Learning | Grades 7-12
The initial appointment will be for one semester, with the possibility of teaching in future semesters. Applications received will be retained for ongoing review to meet University class scheduling needs. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Teaching assigned classes
- Providing students with support during office hours
- Provide in-person teaching and instructional learning on WCU’s campus
Minimum Qualifications - Master's degree in Educational Research & Assessment or closely related field.
- Experience with teaching pedagogies including multimodal and virtual.
- Experience working with diverse populations and/or multicultural teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Ph.D in Educational Research & Assessment or closely related field. (ABD may be considered).
- Teaching experience in K-12 setting and/or at a higher education level.
Special Instructions Salary per three-credit course is $6,543.57 Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
