The Division of Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the Administrative Specialist 1 position within the Division of Biology. This is a non-exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position.

The Division of Biology:
The Division of Biology houses three different departments: Microbiology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cellular Biology. The Division is home to over 1,000 faculty, staff, and students. These researchers are actively engaged in scientific exploration, including field studies throughout the world.
The Position:
The Division of Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks an Administrative Specialist who will work directly with the Director of Biology Teaching and Learning, the Biology Business Office (BBO), Biology Service Facility (BSF), Genome Core, Animal Facilities and the Heads of the departments of Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology (BCMB), Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB), and Microbiology.
As the only administrative specialist in the Division of Biology office, there is no sub-division of job duties. This position provides central services for 45-50 employees in the Division and support units (Biology Business Office, Biology Service Facility, Genome Core, Microscopy, and Animal Facilities). This position is responsible for all the administrative and personnel office functions. This position also provides support for the Director of Biology Teaching and Learning and core biological sciences curriculum. Additional services and communication between the other Biological Sciences departments (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Genome Science and Technology) when requested.
