Walnut Hill School for the Arts seeks a full-time faculty member to join the World Languages department to teach French 1-5 for the 2022-2023 academic year starting in mid-August 2022. This position will be the primary French teacher in the department and will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing the French curriculum for the program. This is a full-time academic year position reporting to the Head of World Languages. Walnut Hill language programs aim to teach language and encourage cross-cultural exploration in an immersive environment; students are required to use only the target language to engage in class, even at the introductory level. The department places special emphasis on speaking, and students hone their skills through active participation in different activities such as story-telling, songs, routine conversations, presentations, and debates. Courses are comprehensive and sequential, and celebrate language, culture, and personal growth. Note: Faculty salaries are based on the School's salary scale, education, and experience.
