Department: Dana School of Music Employment Type: Full Time Job Category: Faculty Major Work Characteristics : Youngstown State University's Cliffe College of Creative Arts seeks an accomplished and dynamic Music Industry – Recording Arts Lecturer for the Dana School of Music. The Music Industry – Recording Arts Lecturer will be an inspiring and strategic professional with a record of significant achievements in audio engineering and music production. Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses and developing graduate courses in Music Industry and Recording Arts; overseeing all recording studio activities including scheduling, maintenance, and upgrades; supervising music industry and recording internships; serving as the principal advocate for the Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in the Recording Arts program; working collaboratively with the director, faculty, staff, and students to advance the strategic direction of the program; and participating in recruitment and retention efforts of Recording Arts students. Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned based on the candidate's academic background and skills. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of music industry and technology standards, the ability to teach both lower- and upper-level recording classes, and should implement a vision for the Recording Arts program. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Music, or related field, and at least 3 years of experience in the field of audio engineering. Desired Qualifications: 3 or more years of full-time experience in the field of audio engineering; record of successful teaching experience; record of successful collaboration and business acumen in the music industry.
