SUMMARY Spring Arbor University is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as a generalist in our Music department to strengthen and continue to build our curricular and co-curricular Music programs. The successful candidate will be passionate about preparing students to impact the world for Jesus Christ within the vocation and/or practice of Music. Experience in Choir, Band, Ensembles, and/or Music Production is desired. The position will begin in August 2022 POSITION DESCRIPTION The School of Communications, Media, and Fine Arts at Spring Arbor University (SAU) invites applicants for a tenure-track position in the field of Music. The successful candidate will have professional expertise in Music and will have the ability to convey their passion and expertise to students in a wide variety of Music and Fine Arts courses, and other courses they may be qualified for. Responsibilities include teaching, leading various-sized student ensembles, development of scholarly endeavors (broadly defined), innovative curriculum development, advising and mentoring students, and assisting with recruiting music students and contributing in other collegial ways to build the department and university.

The successful candidate will be able to articulate how they would integrate the Christian faith into their discipline and will be someone who enjoys working with students and other faculty. Applicants must be thoroughly supportive of the University’s mission and values as an evangelical Christian University affiliated with the Free Methodist Church. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a music-related area is required; terminal degree in Music or a related field is preferred. Terminal degree in Music is required for tenure-track designation. Successful college teaching experience in a traditional campus environment is strongly preferred. Experience teaching online is a plus. |
