The Chemistry Department in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Southern Oregon University (
SOU) invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor in Physical Chemistry position. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading physical chemistry lectures and labs, as well as teaching in our general chemistry sequence, and will also have an opportunity to contribute to computational chemistry, general physics labs and general education courses.
The Chemistry Department values supportive interactions with students and the successful candidate should demonstrate the desire to teach, advise, and sustain a vibrant research program with undergraduates with diverse backgrounds. Scholarly activities may include research in the scholarship of discovery, synthesis, application, or teaching. Our program is well-equipped with a 400 MHz FT-

Other responsibilities include department and university service, curriculum development, professional affiliations as appropriate, and other responsibilities as assigned. The successful candidate will ideally have a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience and/or college level teaching experience is highly desirable.
