Youngstown State University's Graphic + Interactive Design Program in the Department of Visual & Dramatic Arts invites applications for a full-time Tenure-Track position in Interactive Design. This is a 9-month faculty position with an anticipated start in August 2022.
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of the critical, historical, and theoretical aspects of graphic and interactive design as well as an engagement in evolving practices in the field. The ideal candidate will be able to apply this understanding to different areas within interactive design (UX/UI), graphic design typography, motion graphics, animation, user experience, and mobile device application to teach screen-based design and some print courses in our Graphic + Interactive Design Program.
The Graphic + Interactive Design Program is a vital part of the Cliffe College of Creative Arts, a dynamic component of the Youngstown State University campus, and a major regional arts resource. Master of Fine Arts or other terminal degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or related field by the time of hire and demonstrated experience in interactive and print design.
Two years' teaching experience at the college or university level. Experience with relevant UX/UI applications and coding languages.
